In this reflection of Quebec society , the minimalist display methods themselves were an attraction: thousands of coloured steel cubes were used as part of the exhibits which was bathed in an electronic score by Quebec composer Gilles Tremblay in which synthetized whir, twitter and roar complemented the visual suggestions.
High overhead, the distinctive soundtracks collided and coalesced into a contrapuntal aural landscape. The building and the adjacent French pavilion are now part of the Montreal Casino.
The themes were integrated to the pavilion's the modern architecture through cubic modules. The cubes became the receptacles for exhibition items or became themselves the object of the exhibits through sculptural form.

They are perpetually disorganized and mismanaged. Don't waste your time! We couldn't believe how under developed and unimaginative this place was.
With such beautiful natural surroundings, you'd think the city developers would add things to interest the many families who come here.
It was a good lunch but a condescending service AND the waiter didn't use our discount ticket correctly even after we tried to explain and We inform Groupon with no answer.
Beaver Lake or pond as we Montrealers use to say,has not changed much since my childhood. Growing up on Atwater Street this was my backyard,i learnt how to ski, skate and slide on this beautiful side of the mountain.
The chalet that we used for changing into skates The hours are from 6 pm until closing. Keeping in the "chalet" style of the place, the wooden beams and windows still have the same look as in the 60's but with a modern twist.
We had a Groupon ticket and since my luck with Groupon is always a let down,i was not expecting very much. We were greeted by a smilling hostess who showed us to a nice window side table with a view of the lake and mountain slope.
Our Groupon ticket was for a starter salad or a soup,a main course, dessert and reg coffee. The choice of main courses had a variety for all taste buds.
I had the baked Brie with the classic tomato, garlic and chive topping. The nice twist was that it was served sliced in half so that it was easy to share.
The Brie was well melted and the topping was very tasty. For my main course I chose the crab filled ravioli. Those little pockets were filled with moist crab filling all served hot with parmesan flakes on top.
I especially loved visiting the Basilica at 8 pm when everyone else was gone. Date of stay: December Trip type: Traveled with family. Helpful Share.

The room was very small. In fact, when I opened the main door it slammed on to the double bed half way. Also, the bed was somewhat creaky but still comfortable.
One advantage was that the place was in close proximity to St. Joseph's Oratory and we were able to walk. However, the walk was steep on the way to the church and please watch out for traffic.
They provided us with a decent breakfast in the morning. This place may not be suitable with children. Date of stay: January Location.
